Celebs and their plastic surgery

Lisa Rinna – plastic surgery

What has happened to Lisa Rinna’s lips? The above photos are an after and a before. Many of you may have seen her on “Dancing with the Stars” recently. Although I think she has a great figure and dances well (Stacy Kiebler does leave her in the dust), I cannot get over how bad her lips look. It appears to me that she has had gortex implants placed into her lips, with one large piece on either side of her cupid’s bow (the middle bow-part of the upper lip). Gortex can make the lips look unnatural by creating a stiffness which is obvious when she speaks. The other problem is that her upper and lower lips are out of proportion. The easiest way to spot a pair of unnatural lips is to compare the upper and lower lip sizes. The lower lip should be about 1.5 times the size of the upper lip. In Lisa’s case it is 1:1.

Thanks for your opinion. The net is full of speculation. I will take the opinion of a doctor over the opinion of your average message board user. BTW, The before lips are beautiful, so what’s with the after lips?

I believe she’s had gortex placed into the lips. It’s a type of plastic implant.

Really, what the hell was she thinking? She looks absolutely ridiculous! She needs to get those lip implants removed immediately!!! Her bottom photo is absolutely gorgeous. Her top photo, well nothing nice to say.

“The net is full of speculation.” Maybe that’s what they filled her lips with.

Really what is with her lips? They are so hideously ugly. Everytime I see her on tv I just think “her face must hurt”. She was pretty before but screwed it all up.

she should really reconsider the size of her lips. i was just wtching her on regis this morning, and was disgusted by the fact that i couldnt see her top teeth while she was talking due to her oversized lips. very unnatural looking.

I believe in a procedure or surgery only for a serious cosmetic problem. Her lips were fine before. Now, they will never be the same.

My mother and sister’s lips are shaped exactly like Lisa’s. They do not have implants at all.

Some people just have larger upper lips–that are shaped oddly.

My husband and I both have full lips, and I tend to prefer the way our lips are shaped–not like my mother and sister’s lips…no offense to them.

Ratios are helpful guidelines, but some people do fall outside of the “norm”.

That’s fine, but compare the before to the after….those are not the same lips at all, and have clearly been enhanced. Compare any old photos to her new ones, and you’ll see that she doesn’t ‘fall outside of the norm’ in regards to genetics, but merely due to poor plastic surgery.

I’m a huge fan of Perlane myself.

I think the after shot of Lisa makes her look older now. It’s very sad. She’s beautiful the way she is. Why mess with that? I know Hollywood is a tough place to work, but come on.

It is so sad that there is SO much pressure in Hollywood to make a beautiful woman feel like she needs to have anything done cosmetically. Honestly, she looks deformed now. It looks so unnatural. I was just watching her on the SAG fashion show and it was just so distracting how bad it looks. She is so beautiful. I hope that there is some way to get her back to the way her lips were. But, based on what I have read, it doesn’t seem that it will happen. So sorry Lisa. I am a fan and feel really bad for you. What a waste of beauty.

I don’t see how she can look at herself now and think those lips look good. I just saw her on the Today Show, and I didn’t hear a word she said because her lips were so distracting. It was so bad I was compelled to Google “Lisa Rinna’s lips”, and here I am.

Ok, I feel better. I thought it was just me…thinking omigosh what the heck is wrong with that woman’s mouth? So distracting and I was feeling sorry for her with a possible cleft palate–except it was pretty obvious it was bad plastic surgery. The before shot says it all. Too bad the pressure women feel to go thru all that. Hopefully she’ll google her OWN lips and find out how bad it is.

It’s a compulsion. It must be. It’s not about making herself look better, it’s about getting her next minor plastic surgery fix. People only blind themselves to the truth when they have another agenda.

I first saw this woman on DWTS, and was mesmerized by those lips. When she would open her mouth wide to laugh, they would hang down like curtain- the effect is quite horrifying!

I agree: Is she in massive denial about it, or has she really deluded herself into thinking that they look good?

I agree w/95% of you…good grief… i just saw her on Entertainment Tonight talking about posing in playboy… i just had to check the web and see if anyone else noticed… well geez, how could you NOT NOTICE???? i’ve seen people with large oddly shaped lips too, but unless there’s a harelip situation, they are have an air of symmetry … these look god-awful… yes, maybe i could see them as uniquely beautiful if she had been born w/them… but, after hearing her talk about how her favorite thing to do is pose nude … it kinda all makes sense…

Wow! I hear a lot of, how sad it is that there is so much pressure to look good in hollywood and how she should see how ugly she looks now. Those are the exact kind of comments that make people in Hollywood like that. the pressure doesn’t come from “Hollywood” it comes from us, Hollywood is just a reflection from a society that looks at women in th light of “you have to have physical beauty to be accepted and loved”, or maybe the modeling industry trained our eyes to believe in what is beautiful. Anyways, she obviously felt she needed to look better and got a bad lip job, one that can’t be fixed and probably is very upset by that and it probably doesn’t help her esteem any to hear comments made by some on here. Rediculous, hidious and ugly, take a look in the mirror, those comments are hideous and ugly!

I remember the first time I saw Those Lips. My (adult) daughter howled with laughter after I blurted out “Eeeww! That upper-lip looks like a hemorroid! Is it real? Why would anyone do that to themself?!”
It took a while to remember her name, but could never forget Those Lips!

I agree! – give this very kind, entertaining, engaging and thoughtful woman a break! I just caught a preview for that new show, “The Doctors” on which Lisa Rinna will soon be a guest. Lisa spoke of her lip surgery being an impetuous move made in her youth which, regrettably, cannot be reversed.

Let her unfortunate mistake be a lesson to others, but for heaven’s sake, don’t allow it to cause an inflated ugliness from our own lips…

I wonder what the year on the ‘before’ picture is??? I’ve thought for years that she’s got the ugliest lips on t.v. Even worse than the ‘blimpy’ ‘octomom’.

I just watched an interview with Lisa on the Today show. She claims that she had botox about 23 years ago and tha the reason her lips look like they do is because of scar tissue that has formed over time.

Whether this is true or not, I’m not sure – she apparently likes her lips, but I personally find them a bit much – it reminds me of typical hollywood botox for older women.

Wow, super harsh comments. I hope none of you get so reamed for making a mistake. Regardless of the nature of the mistake, it is in fact an admitted “mistake.” She wasn’t secure in how she looked. Her livelihood depends on her appearance. Should she lock herself in the house and never work or socialize again? Lord forbid if you run into someone with an actual deformity. I hope you don’t ridicule them. Don’t get such joy in ripping up someone else. God doesn’t like ugly behavior!

Natural beauty is accepting variations in us all and accepting things that are not that far from the average. The enhancements professionals make in good faith often come back to haunt us later in life. It’s great that she is speaking out on this.

Cosmetic dentistry and facial enhancement surgery has a huge potential for abuse. The expose ‘Confessions of a Former Cosmetic Dentist’ (book) is a contribution to the cause against unjustified & extreme cosmetic enhancement surgery. There is an interesting conflict between lip surgery and extreme veneer makeovers as described in this recent press release which also mentions Lisa Rinna:

If that is scar tissue in her lips, then a lot of people are going to be looking busted in another 15 years or so. She is a clear example of cosmetic surgery gone wrong.
