Here is a revealing interview with Sharon Osbourne on her CBS show The Talk. Sharon shares that genetic testing revealed she carried a gene for breast cancer, and therefore underwent a double mastectomy for prophylaxis. She has also sworn off any further plastic surgery, due to seeing photos of herself looking like she’s had work done.
I think it’s great that Sharon is so open about her health and plastic surgery. It sounds like her genetic testing wasn’t all that planned, so it’s good that the circumstances occurred as they did. Some genes carry a nearly 100% risk of developing breast cancer, so it’s important that anyone with a major family history of breast cancer talk with their doctor about whether genetic testing might be important for them. Technology has really gone a long way in saving lives that could have otherwise been lost. It’s good that Sharon brought this topic up.
I would also convey to Sharon that I think the majority of her plastic surgery looked very well done! I wouldn’t recommend that she swear off ALL plastic surgery. In general, it’s served her well!

Sharon Osbourne recently revealed on The Talk that she underwent surgery to have a leaking silicone gel breast implant removed. According to RealSelf.com:
“One morning I woke up and one of my boobies was kind of much longer than the other. So, I’m like looking at them thinking, ‘This isn’t right,’” she added. She was advised by her surgeon that the “drooped boob” was, in fact, leaking. She promptly had them removed as the silicone had “leaked into the wall” of Sharon’s stomach.
Not to be undone by the unfortunate incident, Sharon decided to get some other work done while she removed the implants. She implied that she received a butt lift along with her newly constructed breasts. When asked how she felt about her new breasts she replied, “I don’t feel like I have a water bed laying on my chest anymore.”
Leave it to Sharon to tell the truth without pulling punches! Plastic surgery or not, Sharon’s aging very well.
For patients who are worried about a leaking breast implant: it’s always best to remove a leaking silicone implant. Although studies have shown no evidence that broken silicone implants cause serious disease, it’s best to exchange the implant for a new one as soon as possible.

In a recent interview on the Today Show, Sharon Osbourne stated that she plans to have her breast implants removed this summer and then plans to give them to her husband Ozzy to use as paperweights!
According to nydailynews.com:
“They’re better on his desk than on my chest,” she said. “They’re awful!”
Even for a plastic surgeon who does this surgery nearly every day, I find that pretty gross. I once removed breast implants from a patient who asked me if she could take the explanted implants home with her. When I asked her why, she replied that she planned to mail them to her ex-husband!
Thanks for reading.

Some celebrities seem to look better with age. Is it from better hair? Losing the baby fat? More shaped brows? Or possibly plastic surgery? There is a website which looks at this, focusing on a number of famous stars. Sharon Osbourne is one of them. She has admitted to quite a few plastic surgeries to look better (including a gastric band to lose weight). Otherwise, Nicole Kidman appears to have a classic Botox brow and Celine Dion may have fixed her gummy smile. They all look better!
