The blog title is the funny headline from a recent National Enquirer article where I was asked what I thought about Courteney Cox’s lips. Although I don’t recall ever yelling for her to “Stop The Drastic Plastic!” I do think her lips look quite overdone. In fact, they are bordering on trout pout levels. She’s such a natural beauty and would look even better with smaller, natural lips.
The photo here is from 2012, but there is a more recent photo on the National Enquirer article HERE.

I don’t know why so many celebs are plumping up their lips like this. I commented recently on Jenna Jameson for this blog (see the post with before and after photos HERE) and have also recently commented on her appearance for Radar Online (see that post HERE).
I theorize that in certain circles, jacked up lips like Jenna’s are considered attractive. These may be true in parts of Beverly Hills, where the appearance of overdone plastic surgery could be a sign of wealth, and therefore is considered more attractive. It’s like the paintings of Peter Paul Rubens. My understanding is that in his time, women who were somewhat overweight were considered more beautiful, because it meant that they were wealthy, well-fed, and healthy. This could explain why so many Real Housewives have such puffy, overdone lips. They may think their lips look good, whereas the majority of middle America considers them strange and overdone.
Just a thought.

This is a photo of how Khloe Kardashian normally looks. Photos have surfaced on the internet showing a possible lip enhancement. In fact, she’s sporting an out-and-out trout pout now. Most women enhance their lips with temporary fillers, like Juvederm. These typically wear off after 6 months or so. The lips also swell more than other parts of our body, so it’s possible that she’s just excessively swollen. If that’s the case, then she probably looks pretty reasonable right now.

Have you seen the recent photos of Kardashian mom Kris Jenner’s trout pout? If not, check out the latest photo from Hollywood Life HERE. Her upper lip looks like it’s been punched by Brock Lesnar. Jenner claims her massive lip was due to an allergic reaction to a food she ate while in the Dominican Republic. Many plastic surgeons have come forward to disagree.
My opinion: A food allergy would likely have caused both her upper and lower lips to swell up. In the photo you can see it’s just her upper lip that’s affected. An allergic reaction to filler injections is a more likely cause. Some people may react to the preservatives in anesthetics that are mixed with the fillers. The treatment for a reaction like this is oral steroids.
The lips have a tendency to swell quickly and dramatically. That’s why, when a person gets punched in the face, he or she gets a fat lip and not a fat chin or fat nose. The good thing is that the lips also shrink back to normal very quickly. I bet Kris will look pretty normal the next time we see her.

This weekend I was privileged to be the cover story for the Life section of the Detroit Free Press. The article reveals my thoughts on plastic surgery in Michigan vs. California, popular celebrity plastic surgery body parts, and a couple cases of bad celeb plastic surgery. You can read the interview, complete with celebrity photos here.
Thank you to the Detroit Free Press for the nice article!

Poor Lindsay Lohan. First she gets sentenced to three months in jail, then she suffers a setback to her $100 million E-Trade lawsuit. And to cap it all off, some plastic surgeon gave her a trout pout!
There is definitely too much filler in her upper lip, causing it to be larger than her lower lip and violating the natural 1:1.5 ratio (the lower lip should be 1.5 times the width of the upper lip). At least while she sits in the clink her upper lip will settle down, so hopefully by the time she walks free her lips will look normal once again.
For the ultimate plastic surgery tell-all, check out Dr. Youn’s critically acclaimed memoir about plastic surgery, In Stitches! It includes a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon using leeches to salvage a woman’s nipples, massive man-boobs, and even reconstructing a face mauled by a raccoon. Dr. 90210 Robert Rey: “I highly recommend it!” The Doctors Dr. Drew Ordon: “Brilliant, humorous and energetic.” In Stitches is available on Amazon.com here: In Stitches

I was recently interviewed by The Sun, a U.K. Paper, on overplumped celebrity lips. They have a quiz to see if you can determine which overplumped lips belong to which celeb. For the article…click here.
Thanks to Toni Jones for including me in the piece.
