Take the Victoria Beckham Breast Test

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

The OC Register reports that Victoria Beckham has identified four distinct time periods in her life based on her breast size. They are: Pre-implants (pre-1999), First Implants (34 D -1999-2001), Largest Implants (34 DD -2001-May 2009), and Smaller Implants (34 B – May 2009 to present). They also present a slideshow quiz to see whether you can identify from which breast period the photo is from. You can find it here. Good luck! (I’m ashamed to say I got most, but not all, right)

Victoria Beckham Comments on Her Breasts

Friday, December 12th, 2008

According to the Daily Mail, Victoria Beckham has commented on why her breasts look so round and grapefruit-like:

‘I know how a dress should sit. I’ve worn so many in the past and when I see the photographs I think, crikey, my boobs are up round my neck again, because the corsets are too short and not cut high enough’.

She’s made millions on that look, but it’s nice to see that she has figured out it is no longer working for her. Crikey! She isn’t a Spice Girl anymore!

To check out MY explanation of why her breasts look excessively round (hint: it’s not due to a corset!), click here.

The Formula for Perfect Breasts?

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

A British cosmetic surgeon has announced that he has developed a ‘formula’ for determining what he believes are the perfect breasts. He spent hours pouring over topless models to develop his theories. In his opinion, the celebrity with the most perfect breasts is Caprice, and the one with the worst breasts is Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice). According to the Daily Mail:

Mr Mallucci said: “These findings allowed me to form a template around which to plan a breast augmentation, and set a standard of aesthetics.

Obviously personal interpretation and expression has to be accounted for, but this has allowed me to develop a template that I have been using successfully for some time. The key aesthetic elements are nipple position and the proportion between the upper and lower halves of the breast, he said.

The ideal is a 45 to 55 per cent proportion – that is the nipple sits not at the half-way mark down the breast, but at about 45 per cent from the top…”

Mr. Malluci is not the first plastic surgeon who has attempted to simplify beauty into a mathematical formula. Dr. Steve Hoefflin is a plastic surgeon who developed a very complex mathematical equation for facial beauty, which he described in his book “The Beautiful Face.” In it, he uses the ‘angles’ and ‘highlights’ of a face to develop a numerical score of beauty. It’s extremely complicated, but definitely interesting.

Here’s my take: I don’t like the idea of distilling everything down to mathematics. While it seems that everything nowadays can be explained by math (such as why music sounds melodic), I believe that beauty is not something that needs to be completely explained in this way. When performing plastic surgery, I do use some of these mathematical formulas to help determine what will give my patient the best result, but there is definitely an element of ‘using my eye’ to it as well. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. (And I’m sure that David Beckham likes his wife’s breasts!)

Victoria Beckham – Photoshopped legs?

Friday, July 20th, 2007

There are photos all over the internet showing what appears to be aged legs on Victoria Beckham. A post from hollywoodrag.com shows what the photo apparently was, before somebody may have photoshopped it. Yes, her legs do look good. Her reality show, on the other hand…

Victoria Beckham – plastic surgery

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

Victoria Beckham (a.k.a. Posh Spice) has been blog fodder for months, mainly focusing on her oh-so-obvious breast implants. The excessive roundness that she displays is very consistent with breast implants which are high profile (rounder than traditional discus-shaped implants), overfilled, and likely on top of the muscle. When the native breast tissue disappears due to a low body fat percentage, there is nothing covering the implants but skin. This causes the shape of the implants (round) to be very apparent. In addition, some women who start out with no breast tissue at all (AA cup) have their implants literally make up their entire breast. This also predisposes to a less natural result. Of note, because she is British, there is a distinct chance she has the silicone gel implants which are not allowed to be placed in this country outside of government studies. No matter, she was always my favorite Spice Girl.
