Best and Worst Celebrity Plastic Surgery of 2010

Monday, January 3rd, 2011

2010 is a distant memory, but the celebs who’ve benefitted and suffered from plastic surgery are here to stay.  Here is a list of Dr. Youn’s Best and Worst Celebrity Plastic Surgeries of 2010:

BEST:

5. Alexa Ray Joel – Rhinoplasty – Subtle, but nicely done.  Alexa admitted the surgery to People Magazine, stating, “I was thinking about getting this for years. It’s always bothered me a little bit. I was self-conscious of pictures taken from the side.”  Check out Alexa’s before and after photos here.

4. Lisa Rinna – Lip reduction – Good for her!  Lisa’s famous trout-pout was downsized earlier this year as she underwent lip reduction surgery. Her lips now have ‘normal’ proportions and look great.   Although my peeps tell me she may have had some minor complications, everything looks great.  Nice job by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher.  Check out Lisa’s new lips here.

3. Jane FondaFacelift, lower blepharoplasty - Ten years after saying she would not have plastic surgery, Jane decided to go under the knife. In her blog, she admitted, “I just had some ‘work’ done on my chin and neck and had the bags taken away from under my eyes…” After surgery photos reveal a youthful look without appearing pulled or tight.  Check out Jane’s new face here.

2. Kate Hudson - Breast augmentation (unverified) – Kate appears to have had a conservative breast augmentation this year, likely going from a AA to a nice B.   Even better, she didn’t get back together with that creepy Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes.  Check out Kate’s new acquisitions here.

and the number one Best Plastic Surgery of 2010 is….

1. Julie BowenBreast Augmentation (unverified) – The star of my favorite program on TV (Modern Family) and one of my all-time favorite shows (ED) looks fantastic.  Julie’s breasts fit her body well and are not excessively large, therefore look fairly natural.  Check out Julie’s cleavage here.

And now, my Three Worst Celebrity Plastic Surgeries of 2010:

WORST:

3. Heidi Montag – Ten plastic surgeries in one day – Too much has been said about her already, so I’ll make it brief: Too Much, Too Young.  A sad epilogue to her plastic surgery adventure is the untimely death of her plastic surgeon followed by her subsequent trashing of him on national TV.  Can you say, “No Class?”  Check out all my other posts on Heidi and her surgery here.

2. Lindsay Lohan – Lip enhancement (unverified) -  Between court appearances and rehab Lindsay apparently found time to visit a plastic surgeon to plump her lips to unnatural proportions.  Freaky Friday, indeed!  Check out Lindsay’s lips here.

and the absolute worst plastic surgery of 2011….

1. Octomom Nadya SulemanTummy tuck (unverified) – This nitwit thinks she can fool us by denying she’s had a tummy tuck after having a massively stretched out abdomen from octuplets!  Her tummy is now flat as a board.  It’s literally flat like a wooden board, with absolutely no definition, loose skin, or contours.  Plus,  her belly button looks like her surgeon either created it herself or inset it as a vertical slit.   This is a telltale sign of a tummy tuck.  Hopefully in 2011 obscurity will welcome back the Octomom with open arms.  Check out Octomom tummy photos here.

Thanks for reading my blog in 2010!  I wonder what 2011 has in store?  Maybe an A-lister will cop to a facelift?  Maybe Nicole Kidman will finally admit to having Botox?  Or possibly there will be a crazy reality show that combines Bridezilla with Survivor with Extreme Makeover?  Oh yeah, that’s already happened…

Lisa Rinna Debuts Her New, Smaller Lips

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

Lisa Rinna has debuted her new, smaller lips.  As you may know, Lisa recently revealed that she underwent a lip reduction surgery in August.  Her lips now look pretty good!

Typically the lower lip should be 50% larger than the upper lip.  The reason why her lips looked so abnormal before was because her lower lip was actually smaller than her upper lip.  This photo shows that her lips are now the ‘normal’ proportions.  Her plastic surgeon did a nice job.

Kudos to Lisa Rinna for being so up front and honest.  It’s too bad not all celebs are so honest about their plastic surgery!

Lisa Rinna Gets The Silicone Taken Out of Her Lips

Friday, October 8th, 2010

Actress Lisa Rinna has had her lips reduced.  In an interview with People Magazine, the trout-pouted star stated that she was happy with the results of her lip reduction:

“My lip has no lumps! It’s smooth,” she said. “It doesn’t matter what other people think. I did it for myself.”

In previous interviews she admitted to undergoing silicone injections to her lips several years ago, leaving her with a decidedly unnatural-looking appearance.  Basically her upper lip was too big for her lower lip.

My comments on this are printed in the latest New York Daily News (click here for the article).  If she truly had silicone injected into her lips, then the procedure to remove it could be lengthy, bloody, and painstaking.  Solid silicone implants would be a lot easier to remove, since they call be pulled out intact.  Liquid silicone must be cut out, possibly piece by piece or droplet by droplet.  That’s no fun for either the plastic surgeon or the patient!  Bravo to Lisa for being up front and honest about her plastic surgery experience.

Lisa Rinna Opens Up About Her Plastic Surgery

Monday, May 18th, 2009

In a very frank, revealing interview on the Today Show, actress Lisa Rinna has admitted to silicone injections in her upper lip. She admits to having it done 23 years ago during the time of the movie Beaches. Like injectable silicone often does, it got hard and she’s had to have steroid injections to the upper lip to soften it up. She also admits to having Botox and Juvederm injections. The Juvederm is especially evident in the obliteration of her nasolabial folds – the lines between the corners of the mouth and sides of the nose- and her plumped up cheeks. Finally, she admits to having had a breast lift, which she really feels she benefitted from.

It’s always nice to see a celebrity be frank and open about his or her plastic surgery, whether good or bad. I speculated that she had a Gortex implant in her upper lip, which is another type of permanent implant like silicone. Unfortunately, the only way to remove liquid silicone is to cut it out. Ouch.

Lisa Rinna Admits to Too Much Juvederm

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Lisa Rinna has gone on record admitting that she’s had too much Juvederm injected into her cheeks. According to momlogic.com:

I had Juvederm put in my cheeks. That’s what I overdid — big time. I tried it because my girlfriends did it. I thought: I’ll do it! I saw a photo and I was like, “Oh Jesus. That’s no good. That’s NOT good.” What I learned is that I don’t really need it. You get older and insecure and you think you need it and you don’t. I learned less is more. Keep your skin good. But, I still like Botox. It’s great! It doesn’t change the shape of my face… I look like a freak! I always said I wouldn’t change my face, but I did it. I can’t not be honest about it. I’d look like a fool. It’s so obvious… I used to feel like it was nobody’s business. But when this happened, I realized I couldn’t hide it.

Cheeks? CHEEKS? What about her lips?
While I think her lips are majorly overdone, it is nice to hear a Hollywood star be candid and not deny the obvious. She does seem like a pretty down-to-earth person.

Lisa Rinna Admits to Having “Too Much Filler”

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

Soap star and former Dancing with the Stars contestant Lisa Rinna has gone on record admitting to having had Botox and injectable fillers. According to an interview with In Touch Weekly:

The 45 year-old Rinna says, “We all know everyone does it! We go on Jenny Craig and do all these things to change ourselves, so why can’t we get a little filler?…

At my age, you have to look good if you want to continue working. Sometimes we do things to help, and I did. I had tried Botox, and then fillers came into the plastic surgery world, and you think, “That’s not a bad idea…”

I thought I looked great. It was a little bit more than normal, but you think it’ll go down, so I wasn’t scared. But two days ago, I saw a photo of myself at a party and went, “Oh, jeez. I have too much filler…”

I see that it’s too much, so I’m going to lay off. I don’t want to look weird! It’ll go down in three months. And of course I’ll stick with my doctor here in LA. I’ve seen him for years and he knows me best.”

I’ve written about her lips many times in the past. Click here for previous posts. Take out the excessively plumped up lips and she looks fantastic for a 45 year old woman. It’s nice to hear a Hollywood celebrity being up front about her plastic surgery. It’s too bad not all celebs are so honest (Nicole Kidman?).

Lisa Rinna Sounds Off on Hollywood Plastic Surgery

Monday, January 7th, 2008

Lisa Rinna has recently discussed her views on plastic surgery in an interview with TV Guide. Here is an excerpt:

TVGuide.com: As for plastic surgery… is it pretty much assumed that women in Hollywood will get certain things done?

Rinna: You have to if you’re going to work in this business for a certain amount of time; you just don’t see older women with a bunch of wrinkles on television. It’s not aesthetically as attractive to look at. If you don’t fit the norm, you’re not going to work…Whatever you want to do personally is absolutely 100 percent what you should do. But if I’m really honest, if you want to work in this town in your fifties, people have plastic surgery, that’s what they do!

It’s refreshing to see that she is not bashing plastic surgery and people who have it, like some Hollywood stars do. While I think her lips look pretty darn bad, she has always seemed like a down-to-earth, nice person from here.

Lisa Rinna – plastic surgery

Wednesday, April 5th, 2006

Who has more plastic? Lisa Rinna or Tupperware? I commented on Lisa Rinna’s lips in a previous post. I think she has gortex in them. This is a plastic implant that can be put into lips, but that I have making up my jacket.

Lisa Rinna – plastic surgery

Sunday, February 5th, 2006

What has happened to Lisa Rinna’s lips? The above photos are an after and a before. Many of you may have seen her on “Dancing with the Stars” recently. Although I think she has a great figure and dances well (Stacy Kiebler does leave her in the dust), I cannot get over how bad her lips look. It appears to me that she has had gortex implants placed into her lips, with one large piece on either side of her cupid’s bow (the middle bow-part of the upper lip). Gortex can make the lips look unnatural by creating a stiffness which is obvious when she speaks. The other problem is that her upper and lower lips are out of proportion. The easiest way to spot a pair of unnatural lips is to compare the upper and lower lip sizes. The lower lip should be about 1.5 times the size of the upper lip. In Lisa’s case it is 1:1.
