According to Hollywoodrag.com, Jessica Simpson has recently re-signed to be the face of the anti-acne skin system Proactiv. According to their site:
The blond actress – who angered Proactiv bosses in 2005 when she put her clear skin down to prescription medicine Accutane – has filmed new TV adverts for the company. Jessica previously praised the treatment, saying: “I just had so much build up and so many clogged pores that once I started using Proactiv Solution, my face was just shining.” Jessica is one of many female celebrities to promote the “three-step treatment system”, others have included Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Proactiv contains benzoyl peroxide, which is a common ingredient in over-the-counter anti-acne skin products (such as Oxy). For my patients who ask about acne treatment, I recommend that they consult with my skin specialist Otilia Wingert. She usually starts them on a medical grade skin care regimen, like Obagi’s CLENZIderm M.D. system combined with Retin-A or a retinol product. We’ve been really happy with what we’ve seen with this. Laser treatments can also help some people with acne problems.
Severe acne may be best treated with Accutane, which is a prescription medication that decreases the oils produced by the sebaceous glands. It can cause serious side effects, however, and should not be taken by someone who is trying to get or is pregnant. Accutane is usually prescribed by a dermatologist and can create some amazing results, but with a price.

Jessica Simpson admits to having lip injections. In a recent interview with Glamour magazine, Jessica stated:
“I had that Restylane stuff… It looked fake to me. I didn’t like that. But…it went away in, like, four months. My lips are back to what they were. Thank God!”
Shocking. Check out my previous post in February 2nd to see what I thought of it then. I actually do know what I’m writing about! Most of the time…

Did Jessica Simpson have a rhinoplasty? The above photo from Popsugar.com has some people asking this. I doubt that she’s had anything done to her nose, especially to create such a large change. The huge sunglasses obscure her face, making it difficult to really tell, but most likely it’s just a photo that was taken at a bad angle with the sunglasses low on her face.

Jessica Simpson visits plastic surgeon or psychiatrist? It’s been reported that Jessica Simpson recently visited the office building of a prominent Beverly Hills plastic surgeon. Some sources report that she was there to see a psychiatrist instead of a plastic surgeon.
When I practiced in Los Angeles, we were in an office building which housed numerous plastic surgeons, in addition to OB-Gyn’s, internists, and many other types of physicians. The mere fact that she went to a “medical building” doesn’t mean much of anything.
Now, I wouldn’t be surprised if she did visit a plastic surgeon there. It appears to me that she has had a good amount of work done for someone her age. This seems to include a breast augmentation (B’s to D’s), rhinoplasty (like sister Ashlee), and multiple lip augmentations. Overall, I think the work she’s had done is pretty good, with the exception of overplumping the lips on occasion. I would recommend that she stop at this point, however, at the risk of overdoing things.

Has Jessica Simpson had a breast augmentation? The above photos are from the most recent issue of In Touch magazine, where I was interviewed on this very topic. It appears that after her very public breakup with Nick Lachey, she has undergone a change in her breast size. The above photos show her in the same outfit, before and after the breakup. It does appear to me that her breasts have increased in size from a C cup to a D. There are many actresses who undergo changes in their breast size (such as Pamela Anderson and Britney Spears), both making them smaller and larger by likely exchanging implants for different sizes. It is possible that after her recent documented weight loss, she had lost size of her breasts and has had her previous implants replaced with larger ones.
Most women who undergo breast augmentation fall in one of three groups: (1) Those who are usually in their twenties, have never had large breasts, and are finally at the stage in life when they can afford them, (2) Those who are usually in their thirties, have finished having children, and would like their breasts to be like they were before breast feeding and pregnancy changed them, and (3) Those women who have recently become divorced and are looking to improve their self image as they re-enter the dating scene. Is it possible that Jessica is one of the third group??

Jessica Simpson is a spokesperson for Operation Smile. This is a very good group of plastic surgeons, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and nurses who travel to third world countries and perform cleft lip and palate repair surgeries on children. Usually, these children would not have had any other options, and would otherwise be deformed for life. I helped on an Operation Smile child several years ago with Dr. Steven Ringler in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We repaired a cleft palate on a small child who was flown in for the surgery. There are many other groups which do similar things, such as Smile Train, but it was nice for Jessica to go out of her way to lobby for such a worthwhile cause. It’s better than lobbying for Pizza Hut!
