Jane Fonda On Aging And Having Plastic Surgery

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011

Jane Fonda was recently interviewed on the Today Show about her reason for having facial plastic surgery:

It was catching a glimpse of herself and wondering who that face belonged to that led a startled Jane Fonda to reverse her stand against having plastic surgery.

“I thought, ‘Oh my God, it’s me,’” the Emmy and Oscar winning Fonda told TODAY’s Matt Lauer. “I feel so great and so rested and I look so different and I just decided — and I’m not proud of it — I decided I wanted to look more like how I feel.”

The actress and ’80s fitness guru told Lauer she didn’t feel pressure to maintain a certain look. “I just decided I wanted to buy myself some time and look more like how I feel,” said Fonda, who had work on her chin, neck and under the eyes.

The 73 year old actress looks amazing.  Kudos to her plastic surgeon!

Best and Worst Celebrity Plastic Surgery of 2010

Monday, January 3rd, 2011

2010 is a distant memory, but the celebs who’ve benefitted and suffered from plastic surgery are here to stay.  Here is a list of Dr. Youn’s Best and Worst Celebrity Plastic Surgeries of 2010:

BEST:

5. Alexa Ray Joel – Rhinoplasty – Subtle, but nicely done.  Alexa admitted the surgery to People Magazine, stating, “I was thinking about getting this for years. It’s always bothered me a little bit. I was self-conscious of pictures taken from the side.”  Check out Alexa’s before and after photos here.

4. Lisa Rinna – Lip reduction – Good for her!  Lisa’s famous trout-pout was downsized earlier this year as she underwent lip reduction surgery. Her lips now have ‘normal’ proportions and look great.   Although my peeps tell me she may have had some minor complications, everything looks great.  Nice job by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher.  Check out Lisa’s new lips here.

3. Jane FondaFacelift, lower blepharoplasty - Ten years after saying she would not have plastic surgery, Jane decided to go under the knife. In her blog, she admitted, “I just had some ‘work’ done on my chin and neck and had the bags taken away from under my eyes…” After surgery photos reveal a youthful look without appearing pulled or tight.  Check out Jane’s new face here.

2. Kate Hudson - Breast augmentation (unverified) – Kate appears to have had a conservative breast augmentation this year, likely going from a AA to a nice B.   Even better, she didn’t get back together with that creepy Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes.  Check out Kate’s new acquisitions here.

and the number one Best Plastic Surgery of 2010 is….

1. Julie BowenBreast Augmentation (unverified) – The star of my favorite program on TV (Modern Family) and one of my all-time favorite shows (ED) looks fantastic.  Julie’s breasts fit her body well and are not excessively large, therefore look fairly natural.  Check out Julie’s cleavage here.

And now, my Three Worst Celebrity Plastic Surgeries of 2010:

WORST:

3. Heidi Montag – Ten plastic surgeries in one day – Too much has been said about her already, so I’ll make it brief: Too Much, Too Young.  A sad epilogue to her plastic surgery adventure is the untimely death of her plastic surgeon followed by her subsequent trashing of him on national TV.  Can you say, “No Class?”  Check out all my other posts on Heidi and her surgery here.

2. Lindsay Lohan – Lip enhancement (unverified) -  Between court appearances and rehab Lindsay apparently found time to visit a plastic surgeon to plump her lips to unnatural proportions.  Freaky Friday, indeed!  Check out Lindsay’s lips here.

and the absolute worst plastic surgery of 2011….

1. Octomom Nadya SulemanTummy tuck (unverified) – This nitwit thinks she can fool us by denying she’s had a tummy tuck after having a massively stretched out abdomen from octuplets!  Her tummy is now flat as a board.  It’s literally flat like a wooden board, with absolutely no definition, loose skin, or contours.  Plus,  her belly button looks like her surgeon either created it herself or inset it as a vertical slit.   This is a telltale sign of a tummy tuck.  Hopefully in 2011 obscurity will welcome back the Octomom with open arms.  Check out Octomom tummy photos here.

Thanks for reading my blog in 2010!  I wonder what 2011 has in store?  Maybe an A-lister will cop to a facelift?  Maybe Nicole Kidman will finally admit to having Botox?  Or possibly there will be a crazy reality show that combines Bridezilla with Survivor with Extreme Makeover?  Oh yeah, that’s already happened…

It includes a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon using leeches to salvage a woman’s nipples, massive man-boobs, and even reconstructing a face mauled by a raccoon. Jane Fonda on her Plastic Surgery

Friday, September 10th, 2010

It’s funny that Jane Fonda admitting to having had plastic surgery is suddenly news now, especially since I reported it on this blog 7 months ago (click here for that!). She is now going public with her plastic surgery. According to CBS News:
The 73-year-old actress revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she “recently had plastic surgery.”
“It was a hard decision to make, and I decided if I’m going to do it, I’m going to tell the truth,” Fonda said. “I’m writing a book about aging, so I can’t write that book and not say I’ve had plastic surgery. And you know, I just decided it was for me — I don’t want to have bags under my eyes that make me look tired, and so forth and so on.”

“I got tired of not looking like how I feel and I wanted a more refined chin line like I used to have so I changed my mind.”
No one who is 73 looks as good as she does without the help of a scalpel. Yes, that includes you Raquel Welch and Joan Collins! Kudos to Jane’s plastic surgeon.

Jane Fonda Admits to Plastic Surgery

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Ten years after saying she would not have plastic surgery, Jane Fonda has given in to the aging process and gone under a plastic surgeon’s knife. In her blog she admits:

I just had some ‘work’ done on my chin and neck and had the bags taken away from under my eyes so I decided it would be good to get a new hair cut so people will think it’s my new hair.” He thought that was so funny he actually toasted me for doing what he said he’d never heard anyone do before: admit they’d had work done. I was planning on blogging about it anyway so who cares? I’m writing a book about aging so I couldn’t very well NOT talk about it.

It’s been 2 weeks. I was in front of the camera all day yesterday and was photographed at Eve Ensler’s luncheon 9 days after the procedure so, obviously, it went well. I swore in 2000 I’d never have anything done again but this year I got tired of not looking like how I feel and I wanted a more refined chin line like I used to have so I changed my mind. I’m still a little swollen but not much and what pleases me is that I won’t looked pulled or weird…or tired all the time. And my crows feet are still alive and well. I wish I’d been brave enough to not do anything but, instead, I chose to be a somewhat more glamorous grandma.

It sounds like she had a facelift and a lower blepharoplasty. From the looks of the photos on her blog I’d have to say her surgeon did a very nice job. She looks youthful, but not pulled or tight. The right wrinkles are gone, leaving ones that should remain. She deserves kudos for admitting she’s had plastic surgery and, unlike some dishonest celebs, not attributing it to just sunblock, good diet, and moisturizers.
