Helen Mirren Doesn’t Believe Young People Should Have Plastic Surgery

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

Contact Music.com has Helen Mirren’s take on young people having plastic surgery:

Helen Mirren is against young people getting plastic surgery and thinks it is “horrific” when they do.

Speaking to InStyle magazine, the OSCAR-winning actress said “The only thing I don’t like on young people is plastic surgery.” The ‘State of Play’ actress had previously defended the right to have cosmetic surgery, saying she understood why people change their appearance. “You go, I don’t want to look at that face anymore and I understand completely, I think people should be allowed to do whatever they want to make themselves feel happy.” adding that she doesn’t understand why younger women would want to ruin the “purity” of the bodies.

Helen Mirren is 66 and looks fabulous.  She has SO had a facelift!  It is extremely unusual for a woman her age to have a jawline as tight as she does.  That’s the sign of a great facelift.

Helen Mirren offered Botox for Oscars

Friday, March 9th, 2007

Now Magazine and Plasticized.com are reporting that Helen Mirren was offered a host of cosmetic treatments as celebrity swag prior to the Oscars:

According to the Daily Mirror a host of celebs were offered the bizarre ‘goodie bags’ packes with vouchers for wrinkle treatments, including Botox, to help them look their best at the awards. Plain-talking Helen was having none of it though. ‘I’m very vain, which initially made playing Elizabeth Windsor in all those tweeds pretty daunting,’ she said. ‘But I’m not fond of all those needles and scalpels. ‘I’ll try to get away with make-up, jewelry and a nice frock.’

Now, some may not like this statement: While I agree that Helen Mirren looked great at the Oscars, she does have some pretty deep wrinkles. Botox would improve these, and if done by a good plastic surgeon, could make her look even better (and not artificial). She is a good example though, of aging gracefully without Botox. I still think that she’s possibly had a facelift in the past.

While Helen appears to have turned down Botox, it’s too bad that Nicole Kidman appears to have taken them up on their offer, along with taking her pal Naomi Watts’ Botox and lip plumper swag. I’ve never heard of actual surgery being offered in swag bags for free, however.

Oscar Wrap-up – Nicole Kidman, Helen Mirren

Monday, February 26th, 2007

I found the Oscars to be pretty unsurprising last night. Everyone looked great in their tuxes and dresses, with no obvious bad plastic surgery on display… except possibly Nicole Kidman.

I’ve commented on her “Botox Brow” and possible canthopexy before, but it does appear that her lips have been recently augmented, likely with an injectable filler like Restylane. Her lips did not seem to move completely normally, possibly because the injectables are a bit firmer than the normal lip tissue. She was an interesting contrast to her BFF Naomi Watts, who looks completely natural.

There are also reports that Nicole may have had a breast augmentation too. This definitely appears possible, but not completely obvious. If she has had a breast augmentation it matches her body well and hasn’t been overdone.

I thought the following celebrities looked great, without any sign of plastic surgery: Kate Winslett, Anne Hathaway, Alan Arkin, and Leonardo DiCaprio. As for Helen Mirren, either she has inherited fantastic genes OR she has had a facelift in the past (likely distant past?). Her neckline is almost too good for a 61 year old woman.
