Facial Plastic Surgeon’s Views On Grated’s “Ten Ugliest Celebrities”

Dr. Michael Persky is a well-known and respected board-certified facial plastic surgeon from Encino, CA.  His blog recently put up an entertaining little post analyzing the possible plastic surgery of the people named Grated.com’s “Ten Ugliest Celebrities.”  Here is a list of Grated’s Top Ten:

10. Melanie Griffith

9. Janice Dickinson

8. Jackie Stallone

7. Mickey Rourke

6. Pete Burns (shudder)

5. Cher

4. David Gest

3. Donatella Versace

2. Jodie Marsh

1. Iggy Pop (shield your eyes!)

I don’t agree with putting Melanie Griffith, Cher, or Jodie Marsh on this list.  Donatella, I suppose I understand.  I think I’d also add Quentin Tarantino.  Amazing writer, visionary director, creative powerhouse.  But he’s no Bradley Cooper.  Oh, and Mel Gibson.  Just plain ugly (inside and out).

    I completely agree about Mel Gibson!…but it is really unkind to call people out as “ugliest,” whether they’re celebrities or not. Being carelessly unkind to anyone is really not cool.

    I reckon it’s reasonable to call people out if they’ve had cosmetic surgery but criticising people for their natural looks is just reflecting your own nasty insecurities. I for one love love love both Iggy Pop and Mel Gibson. Iggy’s physicality and energy are extraordinary and Mel just gets better every year.
